![]() ![]() Of all the three sensors fabricated, the sensor synthesized at 6-h growth duration showed better vibration sensing performance when exposed to the vibration sensing setup (a voltage of 2.89 and 3.03 V was obtained at 7 Hz resonant frequency and input 1 g acceleration). The photoconductivity study confirms the formation of a p–n junction with less turn-on voltage of all the fabricated sensors. Morphological investigations revealed the increased density and cracks on the tips of the nanorods upon the increase of the growth duration. Though phase analysis showed the preferential c-axis orientation of all samples, the nanorods grown at 6 h exhibited increased intensity of (002) plane peak proving its increased preferential orientation comparatively. ZnO (zinc oxide) nanorods were grown on FTO (fluorine-doped tin oxide) substrates using a low-temperature aqueous growth method for varying growth durations (4 h, 6 and 8 h).
